Films, cameras and telescopic rails

Camera and film roll

Everyone likes to see a good film and a night out at the cinema is something that many people look forward to. Some films are well advertised weeks before they are released and depending on whom stars in the film can make a big difference to the success.  Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Tom Cruise, Richard Gear as well as Nichol Kidman, Angelina Jodie and Kate Winslet are all very successful film stars that attract many fans.  Everyone has their own special choice of films and where as most men like a good action film women are more likely to enjoy a good love story.  Epic films such as Titanic, Towering Inferno, ET and Ben Hur are among the best remembered films of all time appealing to all generations.  When making an all action film cameras with telescopic rails (Teleskopschienen) are needed so that the camera can keep up with the action.  This is very important to make sure the movies are accurate and when filming scenes that take place above ground level cameras with fully extendables (Vollauszüqe) will often be used for this purpose.

Since the availability of videos, many of the cinemas have closed down, as people can watch a film in their own home.  Nowadays cinemas are usually in the town centres and their will be a choice of three or four films showing.  Children’s films are always a big attraction at holiday times and usually a new Disney film will be released at Christmas time.  When films have been shown at the Cinemas for a few weeks they now become available on DVD’s as videos have also become outdated.  Whereas some people prefer to see a film at the cinema and experience the atmosphere with others many will wait until the film is released on DVD.  Films are also shown on certain channels of the television and this too has led to a decline in people visiting the cinema. Years ago the only way to see any film was by going to the Cinema and Western films starring Roy Rodgers and the Lone Ranger were very popular.  Charlie Chaplin, Laurel & Hardy, The Three Stooges and Old Mother Riley were the film stars of yesterday that made everyone laugh but now are long forgotten.
